Frosted patterns in decorative glass are produced through two commonly used methods of etching -- sandblasting and acid-etching.
Because sandblasting involves spraying sand or other fine abrasives at high velocities, its effect is a rougher surface prone to stains and finger marks.
Sensa is produced using a specialized acid-etching process resulting in a distinctive, uniformly smooth and satin-like appearance of superior quality that far exceeds conventional sandblasted glass.
The smooth texture of Sensa does not stain from fingerprint marks and allows ease of handling. It provides excellent light diffusion due to its uniform frosting unlike sandblasted glass. It can also be tempered or laminated.
